Moja Wear was founded by a group of 8 friends, who, on a school trip to Tanzania learned that many children there don't have the financial means to buy underwear and sanitary pads. This contributes to an increased risk of disease and infection, and also to reduced school attendance. Instead of organizing donations, the friends behind Moja Wear created an underwear collection. With every underwear you buy, a brief or reusable sanitary pad is sewn in Tanzania by local entrepreneurs, which helps to support local business and then given to school children along with workshops about hygiene and health!
